The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a collection of individual funds and resources given by local citizens to enhance and support the quality of life in the Fox River Valley Illinois. They are a tax-exempt public charity that allows individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowment and temporary funds within the confines of one large foundation. The foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to area students. The foundation serves the Greater Aurora Area, the TriCities and Kendall County in the State of Illinois.

Since 1948, the Foundation has grown from one charitable fund with assets of $5,000 to more than 390 charitable funds with assets of nearly $59 million. Although Advisory Funds remain an attractive vehicle for charitable donors, other types of funds have become important to the Foundation and its role within the community.

Scholarship funds have distributed over $9.5 million to local students and funds have been created to help social service agencies, educational and healthcare organizations, the arts and culture, religious institutions, and the environment. Grants and scholarships totaling over $40.2 million have been awarded by the Foundation since its founding.

The Foundation's current board of directors invites the participation of all who wish to be a part of their continuing development as a charitable resource for area citizens.
