Last month, the Rotary Club of Batavia donated two computers to the residents of Batavia Apartments. The Resource Room—now fully equipped with printers, advanced software and internet access—has allowed the apartment complex to offer their residents vast opportunities in this technology-dominated age. “The 675 residents, 300 of which are under the age of 18, have access to GED programs, Microsoft Office and internet, etc. during all office hours, as opposed to once a week. For parents, their children, and students of all levels, this donation serves as means to overcome some of the obstacles preventing them from becoming self-sufficient,” said Bryan Barus, President-elect.
