On Friday February 4, Batavia Rotarians were joined by members of the Batavia Fire Department and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office to distribute food and sundries to the residents of Mercy Housing. We also donated four collapsible grocery carts that will be kept at the housing office. The Resident Services Coordinator commented, “These carts will greatly help the residents. Residents need to cross the expansive campus after visiting the pantry, which can be difficult to manage while carrying heavy pantry items.” The pop-up pantry is a monthly event sponsored by the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry and Calvery Church of Naperville. Assisting at events like this is indicative of the community service delivered by the Rotary Club of Batavia.
