Bill Flesch of the Gordon Flesch company described the history and current business of the company founded by his dad and now run by three brothers (who work and live in different cities - a successful arrangement and a note to others who may care to try this). No, the company doesn't sell fish products as one parent at a Flesch-sponsored ball game thought. And despite the sound of the name ("Fleischman" means "butcher" in German), the company sells no meat products either.

In fact the Gordon Flesch company is a document processing company. The top independent Canon representative, they offer document management technologies and capabilities from printing on tile to storing 4.5 billion images per year.

The company must be agile; the field changes fast and the days of the "5-year plan" are gone. At the same time the company retains its Midwestern conservative values; commitment to employees is high, resulting in low turnover. The company's charitable foundation donates $125,000 annually to good causes based on involvement of its 590 employees in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, & Ohio.

Bill himself is involved in a number of outside roles such as serving on the Delnor & Cadence boards, being a Site Ambassador of the Batavia Industrial Park, and working with the foundation.
